Last updated: replace with a real date on ship
This page explains what data SecLifecycle Hub collects, why, and how long we keep it. We are based in Ireland and handle data under GDPR.
What we collect
- Search queries you enter, including ones that return no match.
- Software entries and vendor URLs you submit manually.
- Basic usage data, only if you opt in to analytics cookies.
- We do not require an account to use the core search and dashboard features.
Why we collect it
- To return search results and resolve software matches.
- To improve the shared vendor database over time, using confirmed matches.
- Failed searches are kept as a demand signal, to help us prioritise which vendors to add next.
- Analytics, where opted in, helps us see which parts of the product are actually used.
Third party sources we call
- GitHub, for repository search.
- Wikidata, npm, PyPI, and endoflife.date, for official URL and vendor lookups.
- GitLab and Bitbucket, as these sources come online.
- Each of these has its own privacy policy, which governs how they handle any request we make to them.
Cookies
- Strictly necessary cookies load automatically, since the site cannot function without them.
- Analytics and ad cookies only load if you accept them in the cookie banner.
- You can change your choice at any time through Cookie settings in the footer.
How long we keep data
- Manually submitted software entries and confirmed vendor matches are kept indefinitely, as they feed the shared database.
- Failed search queries are kept to inform future vendor coverage.
- Analytics data, where collected, is retained only as long as needed to be useful, then aggregated or deleted.
Your rights
- Under GDPR, you can ask what data we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it.
- You can reject optional cookies at any time without losing access to the service.
- Requests can be sent through the feedback link on the Beta status page.
Changes to this policy
- We may update this policy as the product evolves. The current version is always the one published on this page.
